Stop and think. What do you make other people think about?
When you talk with someone you have the power to make them think positively or negatively. You have the power to encourage or discourage. You have the power to inspire or deaden. I have been asking myself this question non-stop for the last several days. I have been examining my speech. You see, I don’t want to talk to people and leave them feeling the same way before I spoke to them. I want to challenge people. I want to encourage others to live a life of zeal for Christ.
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16
When I meet someone, I want to leave Christ’s mark. I want to show them the depth that we have in our God. When I speak with a friend, I want to talk about things that matter, not the weather. Think about it. This simple change of mind can change everything.
